Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC is recalling certain 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport vehicles manufactured between December 16, 2013, and April 15, 2014. The owner's handbook in these vehicles contains incorrect information about how the Air Bag Status Indicator Lamp works, which could cause occupants to misunderstand air bag functionality and increase their risk of injury in a crash.
To remedy this issue, Land Rover will send affected owners a handbook supplement at no charge. The recall began on October 8, 2015. Owners of affected vehicles should call Land Rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837 and reference recall number P071.

In the affected vehicles, the owner's handbook information may incorrectly describe the functionality of the Air Bag Status Indicator Lamp. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
