What happened

Harley-Davidson is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 motorcycles because the clutch master cylinder may lose the ability to fully disengage the clutch, particularly if the motorcycle has been parked for an extended period. When the engine is running and the motorcycle is in gear, if the clutch cannot fully disengage, the motorcycle may move unexpectedly, which increases the risk of a crash. The recall includes multiple models including the Electra Glide Ultra Classic, Ultra Limited, Street Glide, Road Glide, and others.

Harley-Davidson will notify owners of the recalled motorcycles. Dealers will flush the clutch system and rebuild the clutch master cylinder at no charge. The recall began April 23, 2015, and was later expanded on July 31, 2015 to cover additional motorcycles. Affected owners should contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464 and reference recall number 0165 to have their motorcycle serviced.
