2014 CHEVROLET IMPALA

  • Brand CHEVROLET

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

General Motors is recalling certain 2014 Chevrolet Impala vehicles manufactured between March 22, 2013, and May 22, 2014, because the electronic parking brake piston actuation arm may not fully retract. This defect causes the brake pads to remain partially engaged with the rotors, which can result in excessive brake heat and potentially cause a fire. The vehicles do not comply with federal brake system requirements.

GM has notified owners and began the recall on May 6, 2015. Dealers will reprogram the electronic parking brake control module with new software at no cost to the owner. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's recall number is 15259. The source notes that vehicles previously remedied under campaigns 14V541 or 15V085 are covered by this campaign.
