General Motors is recalling certain 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles because the slide or tilt roof panel switch may not be recessed deeply enough, which could allow it to be pressed accidentally. When this happens, the roof panel may automatically close unexpectedly, potentially causing pinch injuries to occupants.
To remedy this issue, GM will notify owners and have dealerships update the vehicle's Body Control Module software to remove the auto-close feature for certain switch positions at no cost. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and they can reference GM recall number 15176.
