What happened

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2015 model year Freightliner and Western Star trucks manufactured between October 6, 2014, and February 16, 2015, that are equipped with Haldex Life Seal brake chambers. These vehicles may experience brake drag caused by an improperly seated diaphragm in the brake chamber, which can cause loss of vehicle control at highway speeds and increase the risk of a crash.

DTNA will replace the brake chambers free of charge. Owners received interim notices in late May 2015, and the recall began on September 25, 2015. Affected consumers should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-745-8000 and reference recall number FL676 to schedule service with a dealer.
