What happened

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2014-2015 Freightliner Cascadia trucks equipped with specific Side-Mount compressed natural gas fuel systems and Motion Industries flexible fuel hoses. The stainless steel braid hose reinforcement in these systems may corrode prematurely near the fitting crimp inside the slave tank enclosure. If corrosion goes undetected and progresses, the hose could leak CNG, which would increase the risk of fire if an ignition source is present.

Owners will be notified, and dealers will replace the defective hose free of charge. The recall began on April 1, 2015. Affected consumers should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-745-8000 or reference recall number FL-678 when seeking the replacement.
