Yakima Products is recalling certain Q-Tower Roof Racks and Q-Tower Stripped Replacement towers manufactured between January and May 2015. The crossbar clamping wedges on these racks may slide during installation, resulting in a loose fit on the vehicle roof. If the rack is not snug, it could eject from the vehicle while driving, creating a crash hazard.
To address this issue, Yakima will provide owners with proper crossbar clamping wedges at no charge. Owners of affected racks should contact Yakima customer service at 1-888-266-3085 or email qtowerrecall@yakima.com to request the replacement wedges. The recall notification began on June 17, 2015.

(Yakima) is recalling certain Q-Tower Roof Racks, part numbers 8000124 and 8000135, manufactured January 26, 2015, to May 26, 2015, and Q-Tower Stripped Replacement towers, part number 8880048, manufactured April 1, 2015, to April 15, 2015. The affected roof racks have crossbar clamping wedges that may slide on the crossbars during the installation process, causing the rack to have a loose fit on the vehicle.
