What happened

Daimler Trucks North America LLC is recalling certain 2011-2015 Freightliner Cascadia and M2 trucks manufactured between June 2, 2011 and October 23, 2014. The tailpipe on these vehicles terminates under the compressed natural gas tank, causing the exhaust system to force heat around and potentially overheat the fuel system components, which increases the risk of a vehicle fire.

To remedy this issue, DTNA dealers will extend the tailpipe beyond the cabinet at no charge to owners. Affected owners should contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-745-8000 to arrange the repair. The recall number is FL-671.
