2014 CHAMPION BUS DEFENDER
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Champion Bus, Inc. is recalling certain 2014 Defender shuttle buses built on Freightliner M2 chassis that are equipped with IMMI-brand L9 seat belt buckles. The seat belt buckles have a defect where the latch plate can remain partially engaged after the release button is pressed, making the seat belt difficult to unlatch. This condition could hinder a passenger's ability to exit the vehicle quickly in an emergency, increasing the risk of injury.
Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA), the manufacturer of the Freightliner chassis, is providing the remedy. Owners should contact Champion Bus at 1-810-724-6474 or DTNA at 1-800-385-4357 to have DTNA dealers inspect and replace the affected seat belt buckles at no charge. The recall began on May 27, 2014.
