Glaval Bus is recalling certain model year 2007-2012 transit buses (Universal, Primetime, Sport, Concorde, Titan, Titan II, Entourage, and Apollo models) manufactured between January 1, 2007, and December 3, 2012, that are equipped with certain Ricon S-series or K-series wheelchair lifts with an optional armored pendant cable. The armored cable may be positioned so that it does not clear the wheelchair lift and could contact the power lug, potentially causing a short circuit and fire if the cable lacks a nonconductive cover or has an improperly installed cover.
To remedy the issue, Ricon will send owners a supplemental cover kit and instructions at no charge. Affected owners should contact Glaval customer service at 1-800-445-2824, Ricon Customer Service at 1-800-322-2884, or by email at recall.admin@wabtec.com to receive the free kit and installation instructions.
