Forest River is recalling certain model year 2006-2014 Glaval transit buses (Universal, Primetime, Sport, Titan, and Titan II models) manufactured between January 1, 2006, and September 26, 2014, that are equipped with specific Ricon wheelchair lifts. The lifts have folding link arms with pivot holes that may be oversized, which can allow bearings to shift out of position. If the bearings move, the stowed platform may move excessively and fail, potentially causing the wheelchair lift platform to fall from the vehicle when doors are opened and injuring the lift operator.
Forest River will notify owners of affected vehicles. Ricon dealers will inspect the link arms for damage or displaced bearings and inspect the platform for cracks. Any damaged parts will be replaced at no cost. Owners should contact Forest River customer service at 574-343-5184 or Ricon Customer Service at 1-800-322-2884 to arrange an inspection.
