2014 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER

  • Brand LAND ROVER

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Land Rover is recalling certain 2014 Range Rover vehicles manufactured between May 7, 2013, and October 10, 2013, because the turn signal indicator may fail to alert the driver when a front turn signal malfunctions. Specifically, the indicator may not flash or click at a double rate to warn the driver of the malfunction, meaning a driver could continue operating the vehicle unaware that other drivers on the road are not being notified of a turn, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Land Rover will notify owners of affected vehicles, and dealers will update the vehicle software at no charge to remedy the issue. According to the recall notice, affected owners should contact their Land Rover dealer to schedule the software update. The recall is expected to begin on or before May 27, 2014, and Land Rover's recall number is P042.

Hazard

Without a warning that a front turn signal is malfunctioning, the driver would continue to use the vehicle, unaware that other drivers on the road are not being notified that the vehicle is turning, increasing the risk of a crash.

What should I do?

Land Rover will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on, or before, May 27, 2014. Land Rover's number for this recall is P042.
