Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) — PARKING BRAKE

Is my product affected?

2013 RAM 1500

  • Brand RAM

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Chrysler is recalling certain 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 vehicles manufactured between December 17, 2012, and January 22, 2013, because the parking brake cable equalizer was set incorrectly at the factory. This defect means the parking brake may not hold the vehicle on a steep grade, which creates a risk that the vehicle could roll when parked and potentially cause a crash.

Chrysler will notify owners of affected vehicles, and authorized dealers will reset the parking brake cable equalizer at no charge to the owner. Owners of potentially affected vehicles should call Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753 to determine if their vehicle is included in this recall (campaign number N22) and to schedule the necessary repair.

Hazard

If the parking brake fails to operate as designed, the vehicle could roll when parked, increasing the risk of a crash.

What should I do?
