What happened

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain 2012 Cascadia and Coronado tractor trailers manufactured between August 1, 2011 and December 30, 2011 that are equipped with specific Thermo King TriPac Auxiliary Power Units (APUs). The maintenance access panel door on the bottom of these APUs may separate while the vehicle is being driven, which could create a hazard for other drivers on the road.

To remedy the issue, DTNA will notify owners and Thermo King dealers will inspect the affected APUs and replace any defective panel doors at no cost. The recall began on February 25, 2013. Affected owners should contact DTNA at 1-800-547-0712.
