What happened

Kenworth is recalling certain 2012 and 2013 T270 and T370 medium duty trucks equipped with Eaton Ultrashift transmissions that were built between December 7, 2011, and April 6, 2012. On these vehicles, the air harness from the treadle valve was routed in a way that can cause the air brake lines to become pinched between the cab and the electronic clutch actuator. Movement between the cab and transmission can cause the air lines to wear progressively and eventually leak.

Leaking air lines can reduce brake function, potentially resulting in a crash. Kenworth will notify owners, and dealers will repair the vehicles at no charge. The recall began on November 30, 2012. Affected owners should contact Kenworth at 1-425-828-5000.
