What happened

Daimler Trucks North America is recalling certain Freightliner Custom Chassis incomplete motorhome chassis from model years 2005 through 2012 that were manufactured between March 18, 2005, and July 19, 2011, and equipped with Bosch hydraulic disc brakes. These vehicles may experience reduced brake performance if exposed to long periods of non-driving, which can cause brake caliper piston growth, brake drag, and overheating, potentially leading to a vehicle crash.

Owners will be notified of the recall, which began on November 7, 2012. DTNA dealers will repair the vehicles free of charge. Affected consumers should contact Daimler Trucks North America at 1-800-547-0712.
