What happened

General Motors is recalling certain 2012 Buick Regal vehicles manufactured between February 22, 2011, and February 22, 2012. The vehicles have a software error that prevents the parking lamps from activating when the parking lamps or headlamps are turned on. This inadequate lighting could reduce the visibility of the vehicle and increase the potential for a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the body control module at no charge to fix the problem. The recall began on March 29, 2012. Affected owners should contact General Motors at 1-800-521-7300.
