2012 HITCHHIKER DISCOVER AMERICA

  • Brand HITCHHIKER

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Nu Wa Industries is recalling certain 2012 Hitchhiker Discover America recreation vehicles manufactured between October 10, 2011 and January 30, 2012 that are equipped with electric/hydraulic brake actuator pumps. Some of these pumps may not have been properly heat treated, which can cause premature wear of critical components and render the unit inoperable. The brake actuator provides braking power to the trailer brakes, and if it fails, the trailer could lose braking effort, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nu Wa will notify owners, and Dexter Axle Company will replace the actuators free of charge. The safety recall began on March 7, 2012. Affected owners should contact Nu Wa Industries at 1-800-835-0676.
