2011 UTILIMASTER AEROMASTER

  • Brand UTILIMASTER

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Utilimaster is recalling certain 2011-2012 Aeromaster vehicles manufactured between March 11, 2009, and December 3, 2012. The transmission gear shifter's cable may break where it attaches to the transmission control selector arm on the steering column. When this cable breaks, the gear indicator display on the instrument panel will remain stuck on the first gear position regardless of which gear is actually selected, preventing the driver from knowing whether the vehicle is in Park or Reverse and increasing the risk of a crash.

Utilimaster will notify owners and dealers will replace the transmission selector arm assembly and transmission gear shifter's cable assembly at no charge. The recall began on March 16, 2012. Affected owners should contact Utilimaster at 1-517-543-6400 to arrange service.
