PACCAR Incorporated — WHEELS:RIM

Is my product affected?

TRP ALUMINUM WHEEL

  • Brand TRP

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

PACCAR is recalling certain TRP branded aluminum wheels sold in the aftermarket with part numbers AW2258B, AW2258M, AW2458B, or AW2458M. The rim markings on these wheels were etched to a depth less than the minimum requirements, which means they do not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 120 for tire selection and rims. Without proper rim markings, owners may not be able to identify affected wheels during a recall, and defective wheels that are not remedied face an increased risk of performance failure.

PACCAR will notify owners and replace the affected rims free of charge. The safety recall began on February 8, 2013. Owners of affected wheels should contact PACCAR at 1-425-468-7400 to arrange for replacement.

Hazard

Without proper rim markings, owners may not be able to identify affected wheels in the event of a wheel recall. Defective or noncompliant wheels that are not remedied are at an increased risk of performance failure, and thereby increase the risk of a crash or other safety hazard to motorists.

What should I do?
