Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Yamaha Motor Corporation is recalling certain model year 2006-2009 FJR1300 motorcycles manufactured between February 2006 and March 2009. The ground joint connector in the wire harness can overheat and become deformed, which may cause an intermittent ground wire connection. This defect could lead to malfunction of the ignition system and other electrical components, potentially causing the engine to stall while the motorcycle is being ridden.
A stalled motorcycle while being ridden could result in a crash causing injury or death. Yamaha dealers will repair the problem free of charge by installing an additional wire sub-lead, or if the ground joint connector is already damaged from overheating, by installing a new main wire harness. The safety recall began on July 8, 2011. Owners should contact Yamaha at 1-800-962-7926.
