Forest River is recalling certain recreational vehicles equipped with 1200-series Norcold refrigerators. These refrigerators contain either a sensing algorithm or thermal switch designed to shut off power when high temperatures are detected to prevent fires caused by potential hydrogen gas leaks. However, these devices do not respond fast enough to cut off power before a fire can occur.
Forest River is working with Norcold to identify and notify affected owners. According to the record, owners should contact Norcold at 1-800-767-9101 to receive instructions on obtaining the remedy free of charge from Norcold dealers.
