Passenger car
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Mercedes-Benz is recalling multiple passenger car models due to a defect in the eCall emergency communication function. The affected vehicles have a deactivated communication module that prevents the eCall system from working properly. This means that in the event of an accident, drivers would be unable to establish a voice connection with emergency services either through automatic activation or by pressing the SOS button, and vehicle data could not be transmitted to help emergency responders locate the vehicle.
The recall affects numerous Mercedes-Benz models including the A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, S-Class, CLA, GLA, GLE, GLS, SLK, SLC, M-Class, and AMG GT across various model generations. The manufacturer has initiated a recall to address this issue. The source does not specify what remedy or action affected consumers should take.

The eCall function may not be available due to deactivated communication module. As a result, in the event of an accident it would not be possible to establish a voice connection with the emergency call centre, either automatically or by activating the SOS button, nor would it be possible to transmit vehicle data. In this case, it would not be possible to direct emergency services to the vehicle, which could increase the impact of the accident.
