Two laser pointer products have been recalled due to safety hazards. The first is a silver spaceship-shaped laser pointer (Model TY-KL0672) operated by three button cells with interchangeable heads that produce different laser beam shapes, packaged in a cardboard box measuring approximately 16x8.7x2.3 cm. The second is a silver pocket knife with an attached laser pointer key ring (Model #0312623) also powered by three button cells with five interchangeable heads, packaged in a dark grey cardboard box measuring approximately 11x7x1.6 cm. Both products are labeled as "Class IIIA Laser Product" but are classified as Class 3 laser pointers, which cannot legally be sold for consumer use in Europe.
The products pose a risk of eye damage if the laser beam is pointed at the eyes and do not comply with European standard EN 60825. Authorities have ordered these products withdrawn from the market.
