Is my product affected?

Lighters

  • Brand Ronson

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Ronson Model Shark disposable lighters (model RXL 12070P) pose a burn hazard due to multiple safety defects. The lighters have excessively high flames exceeding 120 mm, and testing found that five lighters were not resistant to flaring while three of those also lacked resistance to spitting, causing burning gas to spill out. Additionally, six lighters had blocked ignition mechanisms that prevented flame extinction, with two of those experiencing spilled burning gas. These lighters do not meet the requirements of the European safety standard EN ISO 9994.

Authorities have ordered the withdrawal of these lighters from the market. The semi-transparent plastic lighters come in blue, red, green, or yellow and are adjustable with a postmixing burner and Ronson logo on the ignition button. They were manufactured in Vietnam and marked with EAN codes 5011435623721 (individual lighter) or 5011435623738 (collective packaging). The record does not specify what action affected consumers should take.
