Yamaha is recalling certain personal water crafts (PWCs) due to a throttle cable hazard. The GP1300 model is affected for units built from 2003 to 2008, and the VX1100 model is affected for units built from 2005 to 2008. The outer throttle cable can corrode, crack, or become twisted, which may cause the inner throttle wire to fray over time. If the frayed inner cable catches on the damaged outer cable, the throttle may become increasingly difficult to move and eventually fail to return to idle position, potentially causing accidents and resulting in injury or death to operators, passengers, or bystanders.
