SOUNDBOKS is recalling its Gen. 3 Bluetooth performance speakers equipped with BATTERYBOKS 3 lithium-ion batteries because the batteries can overheat and create a fire hazard. The recalled speakers are approximately 26.5 inches high by 17 inches wide by 13 inches deep, with grill covers available in black, white, orange, red, or blue. The battery is removable and connects through a slot on the side of the speaker opposite the user interface.
According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately stop using the recalled speakers and remove the battery. Consumers should then contact SOUNDBOKS to receive a free replacement lithium-ion battery including shipping, along with a $100 credit toward purchases at the SOUNDBOKS web shop. SOUNDBOKS will also provide instructions for properly disposing of the lithium-ion batteries according to federal and state regulations. SOUNDBOKS has already notified all known owners directly, and consumers should reference their speaker's unique serial number (printed in the battery compartment) when contacting the company.

This recall involves SOUNDBOKS (Gen. 3) Bluetooth performance speakers with BATTERYBOKS 3 lithium-ion batteries. The speaker measures about 26.5 inches high by 17 inches wide by 13 inches deep. The grill cover of the speaker was sold in black, white, orange, red or blue.
