What happened

HON is recalling certain office chairs due to a hazard where the chair's back can break, which may cause users to fall and become injured. The recall affects HON's Gateway office chairs with model numbers HGTMM and HGV1MM manufactured between February 2019 and February 2020, as well as Maxon MXMO series chairs with model numbers M-SEMO201 and M-SEMX101. These chairs have a black mesh see-through back and a five-star base with wheels, with either HON or Maxon printed on a label underneath the seat. You can find the model number and manufacture date on a label located on the underside of the seat.

If you own one of the recalled chairs, you should immediately stop using it and contact HON for a free replacement back including installation instructions.
