What happened

American Honda is recalling certain 2019 and 2020 Honda Pioneer 1000 and Talon 1000 side-by-side recreational off-highway vehicles because the vehicles can move or roll when parked, creating crash and injury hazards. The recall affects Pioneer 1000 models in both 3-passenger and 5-passenger configurations, and Talon 1000 models in both 2-passenger and 4-passenger configurations, sold in various colors including red, blue, green, gray, and yellow. Consumers can identify their vehicles by the "HONDA" name on the front, sides, and rear, with the model name printed on labels on both sides of the vehicle. The vehicle identification number (VIN) can be found stamped on the frame—for Pioneer 1000 models at the left rear below the tilt-up bed, and for Talon 1000 models on the left side of the frame under the left front fender.

Consumers who own these recalled vehicles should immediately stop using them and contact an authorized Honda Powersports dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair. Honda is contacting all known purchasers directly.

This recall involves certain Model Year 2019 & 2020 Honda Pioneer 1000 and Talon 1000 side-by-side vehicles. The recalled vehicles were sold in various colors, including: red, blue, green, gray and yellow. The name "HONDA" is on the front, sides and the rear of the vehicle. The model name Pioneer 1000 or Talon is printed on a label located on both sides of the vehicle. For the Pioneer 1000, the serial number (VIN #) is stamped in the frame at the left rear, below the tilt-up bed/seat. For the Talon 1000, the VIN# is stamped on the left side of the frame, under the left front fender.
