Is my product affected?

Honda TRX400EX and Rancher TRX350 model ATVs

  • Brand American Honda Motor Co., Inc., of Torrance, Calif.

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Honda and the CPSC are recalling certain Honda Rancher TRX350 all-terrain vehicles from 2000 and 2001 because a mounting bracket on the front suspension could be welded improperly to the frame. If this bracket breaks, the vehicle could lose steering control and crash. Additionally, Honda is recalling certain Honda TRX400EX all-terrain vehicles from 2000 and 2001 because the brake pads could have been assembled incorrectly, which can cause the brakes to fail and result in severe injury or death. The recalled TRX350 models come in red, orange, or olive green with "Honda Rancher" written on the fuel tank sides, while the TRX400EX models are red or yellow with "400EX" on the fuel tank sides.

Consumers who own these recalled ATVs should stop using them immediately and contact their local Honda ATV dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair if needed. The vehicle identification number, which can be used to determine if a specific ATV is affected, is located on a bracket behind the front bumper for TRX350 models and on the front-left-side frame down tube for TRX400EX models.
