Apple is recalling three-prong AC wall plug adapters that were included in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit and sold before February 2015. These adapters were made for use primarily in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Hong Kong and were also sold with Mac computers and iOS devices. The recalled three-prong adapters are white with no letters on the inside slot where they attach to an Apple power adapter, distinguishing them from the redesigned versions that are white with gray on the inside portion.
The three-prong AC wall plug adapters can break and expose metal portions of the adapter, creating an electric shock risk. Consumers who have these recalled adapters should immediately stop using them and contact Apple for free replacement adapters.
