HP has expanded a recall of lithium-ion batteries used in certain notebook computers and mobile workstations due to a risk that the batteries can overheat, creating fire and burn hazards. The recalled batteries were sold with or as accessories for various HP products including ProBook models (64x G2 and G3 series, 65x G2 and G3 series, 4xx G4 and G5 series), HP x360 models (310 G2 and 11-inch Pavilion x360), HP 11 Notebook PC, HP ZBook models (17 G3, Studio G3, and Studio G4), HP ENVY 15, and HP Mobile Thin Clients (mt21, mt22, and mt31). These batteries were primarily distributed to businesses and organizations.

To determine if their battery is affected, consumers should visit www.HP.com/go/batteryprogram2018 to check their specific battery and receive instructions for enabling "Battery Safety Mode" if needed. HP will provide affected consumers with free battery replacement services performed by an authorized technician, as these batteries cannot be replaced by customers themselves.
