Brush Art is recalling WIC nutrition plates that were incorrectly labeled as microwave-safe. The plates, which measure 12 inches long by 9 inches wide and feature dividers with labels and pictures showing portion sizes for protein, grains, vegetables, fruits, and dairy, contain aluminum that poses a fire hazard if placed in a microwave. The recalled plates have a date code of 7-18 on the back and bear the Brush Art website and logo, though plates with an engraved stamp of ISP219 are not affected by this recall.
Consumers who have these plates should immediately stop using them. According to the recall notice, affected consumers should return the recalled plates to their WIC Clinic, where free replacement plates will be provided once they become available from the manufacturer.
