Dive Rite Wings
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Dive Rite is recalling certain models of diving wings due to a defect in the overpressure valve springs that could cause them to rust and fail. The affected models include Travel, Venture, Rec, Trek, Classic, Nomad, and Super Wings sold in red, blue, or black with serial numbers ranging from 42000 through 72000. The recall applies only to wings with opaque white or blue tinted bladders and welded-in flanges; wings with black bladders are not affected. This defect could allow the buoyancy compensator devices to leak, creating a drowning hazard for divers.
Consumers who own recalled diving equipment should immediately stop using it and return it to an authorized Dive Rite distributor or dealer for a free replacement of the overpressure valve spring. Serial numbers can be found on a white tag attached along a seam of the wing.
