What happened

American Vintage Group is recalling custom Faux Wood Blinds with 2" slats in silk white and pearl colors due to a strangulation hazard. The blinds have a pull cord with a breakaway device on the right side and two single cords on the left side that control the slats. The hazard occurs when a child places their neck between the cords above the breakaway device and the device fails to separate as intended. The recalled blinds can be identified by a "NIENMADE China" label inside the head rail and a second label with a manufacturing code beginning with "MFG" followed by four numbers.

According to the recall notice, consumers who own these blinds should immediately stop using them and contact American Vintage Group to schedule an on-site repair appointment.

Hazard

Strangulation can occur when a child places his/her neck between the cords of the pull cord above the breakaway device and the device fails to breakaway.

The pull cord with breakaway device is on the right side while two single cords on the left side control the open/close feature of the slats. There is a label inside the head rail that states "NIENMADE China" and a second label inside the head rail with a manufacturing code beginning with the letters "MFG" followed by four numbers. A warning label on the bottom rail states, "Cords and bead chains can loop around a child's neck and STRANGLE."
