GeoManGear is recalling Magicshine Series I and Series II lithium-ion batteries used with bicycle lights because the batteries can overheat and pose a fire hazard. The recalled batteries were sold as part of bicycle light sets including the Magicshine 900 Lumen (MJ-808), 1400 Lumen (MJ-816), and Tail light (MJ-818) models, as well as sold separately. Series I batteries come in a nylon pack enclosure while Series II batteries come in an aluminum pack enclosure with a fabric sleeve; the model number appears on the product packaging and the Magicshine logo appears on the Series II battery's sleeve.
Consumers who have purchased the recalled batteries should immediately stop using them. GeoManGear is notifying all known consumers. Consumers who purchased recalled batteries from GeoManGear and have not been contacted should visit www.MagicshineBatteryRecall.com to register to receive a free replacement battery.
