What happened

Whirlpool has recalled certain microwave hood combination units because internal arcing during use can ignite an internal plastic component, creating a fire hazard. The recalled microwaves were sold in stainless steel, black, and white finishes under specific model numbers (WMH53520 and WMH73521 series) with serial numbers ranging from TR33500000 to TR34899999. To identify whether your unit is affected, check the model and serial number located inside the unit above the oven cavity on the left hand side, or consult the complete list on Whirlpool's website at http://repair.whirlpoolcorp.com.

Model numbers and serial numbers are located on the inside of the unit, above the oven cavity on the left hand side.
