Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission and Whirlpool Corporation have announced a recall of certain Whirlpool and Kenmore brand under-the-counter plastic tall tub dishwashers due to an electrical defect in the wash motor wiring that can cause the motor to overheat and potentially catch fire. The recalled models include Whirlpool dishwashers with model numbers beginning with DU1, DUL, GU1, GU2, or GU6, and Kenmore dishwashers with model numbers 665.143, 665.160, 665.163, 665.170, or 665.173. Not all dishwashers within the affected serial number ranges are included in the recall, and the dishwashers come in black, white, biscuit, or stainless front panels.
If you own one of these dishwashers, you should immediately stop using it and disconnect the electric supply by shutting off the fuse or circuit breaker controlling it. Inform all users not to use the dishwasher due to the fire risk. Call Whirlpool Corporation to determine if your specific dishwasher is included in the recall by checking the model and serial number on a tag located inside the tub near the left side of the door opening. If your unit is included, Whirlpool will schedule a free in-home repair at no cost to you.
