What happened

Arm's Reach Concepts is recalling certain infant bed-side sleepers manufactured between September 1997 and December 2001. The recalled models are Originals with model numbers beginning 8108, 8133, 8111, 8112, or 8199, and Universal models beginning 8311. When the fabric liner is not used or not securely attached, infants can fall from the raised mattress into loose fabric at the bottom of the sleeper or become entrapped between the mattress edge and the sleeper's side, creating suffocation and fall hazards.

According to the recall notice, consumers who own these products should immediately stop using them and visit www.armsreach.com/instructions to view and download assembly instructions to ensure proper configuration. Consumers should also contact Arm's Reach by phone or through the company website to receive printed instructions and an assembly/warning label by mail. Consumers missing the fabric liner or other components should contact Arm's Reach immediately for an alternative remedy. The manufacture date and model number can be found on a sticker on one of the product's legs.
