Off-Road Bike Engine Parts Recalled by Wiseco Due to Crash Hazard

Is my product affected?

Off-Road Dirt Bike Connecting Rods or Crankshaft Assemblies

  • Brand Wiseco Performance Products, of Mentor, Ohio

Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.

What happened

Wiseco is recalling connecting rods and crankshaft assemblies used in off-road dirt bike engines because engine stress can cause the connecting rods to crack and the engine to lock up, which poses a crash hazard. The recalled parts were sold between July 2007 and December 2008 across several motorcycle models including YZ250F, YZ450F, WR250F, WR450F, KX250F, and RMZ250. Consumers can identify recalled parts by the Wiseco identification number on the neck of the connecting rods or the part number and date code on the product packaging.

Consumers who have off-road bikes with the recalled connecting rods and crankshaft assemblies should stop using them immediately and contact Wiseco for free replacement parts and repair, or request a full refund if they have already replaced the recalled engine parts.
