Serta International is recalling certain mattresses that fail to meet federal flammability standards, creating a fire hazard. The affected mattresses have zipper covers over foam cores and were sold in twin, full, queen, king, and California king sizes. They were manufactured between November 30, 2007 and May 20, 2008, and include specific models such as Serene Signature Zip, Accord Zip, Perpetual Zip, Solara Zip, and several others. The mattress name, date of manufacture, model number, and serial number appear on a label attached to the mattress, and only mattresses with specific serial numbers included in the recall are affected.
According to the recall notice, consumers should immediately contact Serta to determine if their mattress is included in the recall. If the mattress is recalled, Serta will provide a free replacement mattress cover, which consumers can install themselves or have installed free of charge by a qualified repair technician.
