What happened

Cooper Lighting is recalling emergency and exit lights installed in commercial buildings such as hotels and office buildings because the lights can malfunction and fail to stay illuminated during a power failure. This malfunction could prevent the lights from providing adequate lighting to guide building occupants to exits in an emergency.

The recall affects specific model numbers listed in the announcement, and only units manufactured between the 240th day of 2007 and the 101st day of 2008 (identified by date codes in the format XXXX-DDD-YY located inside the housing). Cooper Lighting is contacting customers directly and will provide a free replacement product.

Hazard
