Davenport Cribs
Check against the official notice below — it lists the full affected range.
Baby Appleseed is recalling certain Davenport cribs because they do not meet federal safety standards. The cribs have two mattress support systems, and the wooden support used in the lowest position does not reach the required 26-inch minimum height, which could allow children to crawl over the railing and fall. The recall affects Davenport models with numbers beginning in 273-xxxx-xxxx that were manufactured on or before August 2007. Newer Davenport models beginning with 244-xxxx-xxxx with a single mattress support are not affected.
Consumers should stop using the recalled cribs in the third lowest position, which uses the wooden mattress support. Consumers currently using the crib with the metal mattress support in the top or middle positions may continue to do so while waiting for a repair kit. Affected consumers should contact Baby Appleseed to receive a repair kit, which the company indicated would be available in mid-August 2008.
