What happened

PB Heat is recalling DE and PSC II Gas Fired Cast Iron Boilers equipped with Endura Plastics Model ES2035 pressure switches. The pressure switch may have an internal defect that fails to shut down the boilers when the vent or air inlet becomes blocked. This defect could cause the boilers to produce excessive carbon monoxide levels, creating a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The affected boilers were manufactured for home heating and domestic hot water heating and operated on either natural or LP gas.

The recall affects specific model numbers and serial number ranges: DE-03, DE-04, DE-05, and DE-06 boilers with serial numbers 5040768 to 5052860, and PSCII-03, PSCII-04, PSCII-05, and PSCII-06 boilers with serial numbers 5040777 to 5052166. The model and serial number can be found on the rating label located on the top jacket panel of Series PSCII models or the left side jacket panel of Series DE models. Consumers who have not been contacted should contact their boiler installer immediately for a free safety inspection and repair if necessary.

The boilers were available in either natural or LP gas. The boiler rating label is located on the top jacket panel on Series PSCII models and the left side jacket panel on the Series DE models. The label includes the model and serial number. The following model names and serial numbers are included in the recall: Model Name Serial Number DE-03, DE-04, DE-05 and DE-06 5040768 to 5052860 PSCII-03, PSCII-04, PSCII-05, and PSCII-06 5040777 to 5052166 Other suffix designation may follow the base model number, such as SV-WPC.
