What happened

Simplicity brand drop side cribs are being recalled due to a hazard where the drop side can detach or partially detach from the crib's tracks because of sizing problems with the hardware. When this occurs, it creates a dangerous gap that can lead to infant entrapment and suffocation. The recall affects model numbers 8620, 8745, 8748, 8755, 8756, 8778, 8810, and 8994, sold under the names Aspen, Crib N Changer Combo, Gabrielle, Camille, Providence, and Shenandoah. Consumers can identify affected cribs by checking the date code label on the headboard under the mattress support for codes ending in 05DH, 05GB, 06DH, 06GB, 07DH, or 07GB.

According to the recall, consumers should immediately stop using the affected cribs and provide their baby with an alternative safe sleeping environment. Consumers should return the recalled crib to the place of purchase for a refund or store credit.
