Cummins Power Generation is recalling stationary natural gas and propane generators in both commercial and residential models because the fuel shut-off valve can fail to close, causing gas to leak from the unit. This gas leak creates a fire and burn injury hazard to consumers. The affected commercial models are GGDB, GGMA/B/C, and GNAA/B/C, while residential models are RS15000, RS20000, and RS30000. The recalled units have serial numbers ranging from A050734102 through L068998479 and display "Cummins Power Generation" on the generator nameplate located at the front base of the unit.
According to the recall notice, consumers who own affected generators should immediately stop using them and place the Operators switch in the "OFF" position, keeping it there until repairs are completed. Affected consumers should contact their local Cummins Power Generation distributor or dealer to schedule a free, on-site repair that will be performed by an authorized trained technician.
