Globe Fire Sprinkler Corp. is recalling Model J Series dry fire sprinklers manufactured between 1990 and 1999 due to a hazard where the sprinkler heads can deteriorate over time and fail to operate during a fire. These sprinklers come in pendent, upright, and sidewall configurations and are identified by the name "Globe," the letter "J," and the year of manufacture embossed on the frame. They were installed in areas of buildings where freezing temperatures are a concern, including unheated attics, freezers, coolers, parking garages, porches, and warehouses.
Consumers with affected sprinkler heads should contact Globe Fire Sprinkler Corp. immediately to arrange receiving replacement sprinkler heads at a reduced cost of $9 per sprinkler head.
