Simplicity is recalling certain cribs from its Nursery-in-a-Box furniture set because the assembly instructions provided with the cribs contain incorrect information about how to attach the drop side. If consumers assemble the drop side following these incorrect instructions, the drop side can become detached from the crib, creating fall and entrapment hazards for children. Additionally, the metal locking pins on the drop side may pop off, creating a choking hazard.
The recall affects only model numbers 8910 and 8050 with serial numbers between 3005 HY and 0806 HY, which are available in cherry, white, or natural colors. The model and serial numbers can be found on an envelope attached to the mattress support or on a label on the bottom rail of the headboard. According to the recall notice, affected consumers should immediately check their crib to ensure the drop side is securely and correctly fastened, contact Simplicity for correct assembly instructions (or download them from www.simplicityforchildren.com), and view an instructional video on the company's website showing proper assembly. If the drop side is not properly installed, consumers should not use the crib until it has been assembled correctly.

Consumers can view a video on the firm's Web site showing the proper assembly of the drop side. If the drop side is not properly installed, consumers should stop using the crib until it is assembled correctly.
The recalled cribs are part of the Nursery-in-a-Box furniture set which also includes a changing table and clothing organizer. The cribs are cherry, white or natural in color. Only model numbers 8910 and 8050 with serial numbers 3005 HY through 0806 HY are included in this recall. The model and serial numbers are printed on an envelope permanently attached to the mattress support. "Simplicity," model and serial numbers are also printed on a label on the bottom rail of the headboard.
