Dynacraft Industries Inc. has recalled "Vertical XL2" mountain bikes with chrome-colored frames that were manufactured the week of October 11, 1999. The front suspension forks on these bikes may not have been properly welded and could break apart during use, potentially causing serious injury to the rider. You can identify a recalled bike by the model name printed in yellow and black lettering on the frame and a label near the crank showing "Model No. 8526-26" and date code "99.10.11."
If you own one of these recalled bikes, you should stop riding it immediately and take it to the Target store where it was purchased. Target will provide you with either a free replacement fork or a free replacement bike at no cost.
