DeWalt 18-volt battery packs model number DW9095 are being recalled because the clips that hold them in place can loosen, causing the packs to fall during use. Since these battery packs weigh approximately 2.2 pounds, a falling pack can injure someone working with the tool. The recalled packs are black with yellow "DEWALT" and "18V" markings and have date codes ranging from 9719 to 9810 printed on the top. You can identify the model number on the nameplate on the bottom of the battery.
If you own one of these battery packs, you should stop using it immediately and contact DeWalt to receive a free repair kit. Battery packs that already have an "R" etched after the date code or have a red dot on the nameplate have already been repaired and are not part of this recall.

The recalled DEWALT® 18-volt battery packs are model number DW9095. This model number is located on the name plate on the bottom of the battery. These battery packs have date codes from 9719 to 9810 located on the top of the battery pack. The battery packs are black with "DEWALT," and "18V" in yellow on the sides of the packs. Battery packs with an "R" etched after the date code or with a red dot on the name plate already have been repaired and are not included in this recall.
